Know More Than Your Opponents
Have incredibly valuable competitive intelligence on
your league that updates with each pick. No more static valuations and
dollar values. What happens when one team overbids on a player? Do you know
how much to alter the prices of subsequent players that will come up for
bid? With the Adaptive Valuation Spreadsheet, you will know how much you
should bid for each player no matter what happens in the draft.
How it works: You can easily customize the initial
2004 fantasy baseball rankings and projections that come included with the
spreadsheet to match the exact specifications of your league. As players are
picked during your draft auction, you enter in the actual amount teams bid
for each player. As soon as you type in the amount, the spreadsheet
automatically adjusts the valuations for the remaining players.
You will adjust faster to surprises in your fantasy
baseball draft because the spreadsheet adjusts your dollar amounts for you.
It also gives you valuable information about where teams are concentrating
their spending, where the bargains are, and where people have overspent. You
will be able to identify your opponents' strategies before anyone else can.
At such an affordable price, can you really afford NOT
to have it for your draft?
NOTE: After purchase
please fill out configuration form (link below). We pre-configure your
spreadsheet as part of the standard flat $3.95 handling fee for any order.

Look Inside the Spreadsheet

Summary Page
 |
This is your Central
Intelligence Page. Here you can see which positions are going for more than
expected, and which ones are going for less than expected. You will know how
many players at each position will need to be picked, and what the average
player should go for.
You can also get a valuable snapshot of each team in your league and how
they are doing relative to yours at any given point in the draft. You can
tell which competitors are putting together your toughest competition, which
ones are getting bargains with their picks, and which ones need the same
categories that you need to draft for. For instance, you can see at a glance
that Team 3 needs speed, Team 5 has no saves, and Team 10 will be looking
for power hitters. You will know who your biggest competition will be when
bidding for a player. In snake-draft leagues, you can better anticipate your
opponents moves and pick up a player just before an opponent was going to do
so. This is also invaluable information when deciding who to keep in your
keeper league.
You will know what your opponents need before they do. By the end of your
draft, you will know immediately the projected order of finish in your
league. |

Player Rankings Pivot Table |
If you are familiar with pivot tables in Excel, you know
that they can be a powerful information tool. This page is where your can
sort your fantasy baseball rankings. On this sheet, you can select
a subset of players and sort by any category. The default is set to category
points and dollar values, but you can add fields as you wish. For example,
you can show player rankings for all players, shortstops, second basemen, or
any position. You can also see how many places in the standings any player
will improve or hurt your team in each category. If you want, you can even
sort by individual teams, so you can see which players are worth drafting on
your favorite team. |
|
Team Pivot Table |
Team Pivot Table - Think of
this as the team analysis page. You can see how you team or your opponents
teams are shaping up during and after the draft. This page is indirectly
linked to the Adaptive Dollar Value Page where you enter in the actual price
each player went for in your draft so you don't have to do any extra data
entry. You can select any team in your league from cell B2 to see its
statistics. You can sort the data by clicking on a cell under the category
of your choice and hitting the AZ or ZA button on the Pivot Table tool bar. |
|
Adaptive Player Dollar Values
|
Accounts for inflation and deflation based on the actual
dollar amounts paid at your draft. You will see that as you enter in the
actual amounts, a new, inflation adjusted value appears. Enter in draft
values during your draft here and get a real sense of whether the other
teams in your league are overbidding or underbidding at each position. It
also gives you an overview of player depth levels at each position. You will
always know how many players are left at each position, and exactly how
productive each one is. |
|
Teams Page
 |
You simply enter in the player
drafted under the corresponding team. There is a drop-down menu of players
for your convenience if you have trouble with the correct spelling. On the
any of the 12 team pages you can enter in the players picked for each team
and view how they stack up against each other in the different scoring
categories.
This is a good resource for planning your team, especially in keeper
leagues. It is also valuable information during the draft so you will know
what your team needs. You will also know the needs of your opponents. |
|
Inputs Page
 |
This is where you input your league specific information.
With your purchase, we will do our best to initially configure the
spreadsheet to your specifications so you have to do as little as possible
in preparation. Player valuations are then calculated on the data sheet and
parceled out to the various other worksheets. Once you enter in the
information, you can leave it alone. |
|
Data Page
 |
This is the brains of the spreadsheet. All the heavy
calculations are done here. You really do not have to look at it much. This
is where the fantasy baseball projections are pre-loaded for you. Dollar
values are then calculated on those player statistics according to your
league specifications. If
you want to change the projected stats of individual players, you may do so
here. It is probably best to leave this alone since there are over 30,000
separate calculations being done on this page alone. |

Configure Your Spreadsheet
If you have purchased the Adaptive Valuation Spreadsheet, you can go to
Spreadsheet Configurations Form to configure your
spreadsheet. If you are still deciding to purchase, this may give you an idea of
how much initial customization we typically do for you. It might also give you a
feel for what standard projections DO NOT take into account for you.
